Choosing a peptide seller in Moldova: 8 checks

In short: before you order, check eight things: the stated purity and how it is confirmed, the form of the vial, the label, the compound data on the site, storage conditions, delivery and payment, how to reach the seller, and how the seller talks about use. A good seller answers these questions directly and does not promise what it cannot back up.

In Moldova, research peptides are sold by online shops, Telegram channels and private sellers. From the outside they look alike: vial photos, prices, "high purity". The difference shows when you ask specific questions. Below is a list of those questions in plain words. We are a seller ourselves, so under each point we say honestly how it works with us.

1. Purity: how much, and measured how

Purity is the share of the powder that is the intended peptide. For research peptides the usual level is at least 98–99%. Not just the number matters but the method. The standard is HPLC-MS. HPLC separates what is in a sample and shows how much of the intended peptide it contains. MS (mass spectrometry) weighs the molecules and confirms that it is exactly that peptide and not a similar one.

Ask the seller what backs the purity figure. If there is a certificate of analysis (COA), it should include the chromatogram and the mass spectrum. How to read one and how to spot a fake is covered in "How to read a peptide COA".

How it is with us: our purity specification is at least 99% by HPLC-MS. We do not currently have independent laboratory testing for every batch, and we will not promise a certificate of analysis.

2. Form: a dry lyophilised powder in a sealed vial

Research peptides are supplied lyophilised, as a freeze-dried powder. At the bottom of the vial there is a white "cake" or a loose powder. Dry, the peptide is stable; in solution it slowly starts to break down. The vial should be closed with a rubber stopper and crimped with a metal cap.

Be wary if you are offered a "ready-made solution" instead of a dry vial, if the powder has clumped into wet lumps, or if the stopper is damaged.

3. The label

The vial should show at least the name of the compound and the mass of peptide, for example "10 mg". A "Research Use Only" mark shows that the seller understands what it is selling. A vial with no label, or a handwritten one, is a bad sign.

4. Compound data on the site

Every compound has a CAS number, its number in the international chemical registry, and a known amino-acid sequence. A serious seller publishes them. You can compare them with open sources and make sure it is the substance you think it is. For example, the Semax page lists CAS 80714-61-0 and the sequence Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro.

5. Storage and delivery

A dry lyophilised powder needs no cold chain in transit: a few days at ordinary temperature do it no harm. It should, however, be stored cold: at 2–8 °C, and at −20 °C for the long term. The seller should tell you this without being asked. The details are in "How to store peptides".

6. Payment

The safest option is paying on delivery: you see the parcel before you pay. Be careful with sellers who demand full prepayment by transfer to a private person's card or in cryptocurrency, especially on a first order.

7. Contact, and what happens if something goes wrong

Check how to reach the seller and how quickly it answers. Find out in advance what happens if a parcel arrives damaged or contains the wrong item.

How it is with us: write to our Telegram bot or by email; we reply within a day. We do not accept returns. If a parcel arrives damaged or with the wrong item, we replace it free of charge when you tell us within 48 hours and send photos.

8. How the seller talks about use

This is probably the most important check. Research peptides are reagents for in-vitro laboratory experiments, meaning work "in glass", on cells and tissue. They are not medicines and not supplements. If a seller explains "how to take" something, promises health or appearance effects, or calls its vial a replacement for a pharmacy medicine, it either does not understand what it is selling or is misleading you on purpose.

Is anything needed besides the vial?
